Are you and your spouse the type of couple who just like to lounge around and when you go out on the town you always wear casual clothing?

Well, recently, my wife had to go shop for a sophisticated Lady dress. Now in general, my wife is not a particularly discerning dresser.

Sophisticated lady dresses are certainly not her cup of tea. In general, she is an oversized T-shirt and jeans person, which suits me just fine. We are both very casual people – that is one of the many things that we have in common.

Still, looking for a classy lady dress is something that she occasionally finds very exciting. After all, who doesn't like to dress up now and then? I know I do!

Tell Her What She Wants To Hear About Her Sophisticated Lady Dress

If you are helping your wife look for a sohisticated lady dress (or dresses for any formal occasion), the most important thing is to remember not to speak your mind. Many of you males have probably learned that it's best not to speak at all.

But, if she insists on hearing your opinion, tell her what she wants to hear. If you are like me, it doesn't matter that much to you anyway.

Tell her that the classy lady dress that she thinks looks nice does look nice, that the ones that she doesn't like don't look that good on her, and that all of the sophisticated lady dresses she has tried on make her look thin.

After all, most people don't actually ask your opinion wanting to hear what you really think. Instead, they want confirmation of their own opinions.

Fond Memories of Shopping For Classy Lady Dress With My Wife

When I went to the sophisticated lady dress store, I was all ready to help my wife choose a dress that both of us would like. I had to learn the hard way that my opinion only mattered as a way to confirm what she already knew.

I started our so-called fun shopping spree off on the wrong foot by telling her that I didn't like the first sophisticated lady dress that she tried on, I got a very ugly look from her.

I soon realized that when she asked me what I thought, she didn't really want to know my honest opinion. She just wanted me to tell her that what she thought was alright.

Should I Fib Or Tell The Truth About The Classy Lady Dress?

For the rest of the time, I played it safe. Every sophisticated Lady dress that she tried on I said looked very good on her. Although this approach worked a little better, it still wasn't quite what she wanted.

Finally, I learned to anticipate her opinion and offer one to confirm it. If I wasn't sure if she thought a sophisticated lady dress looked good, I told her that I honestly couldn't make up my mind, but that she looked very beautiful.

Apparently, this approach pleased her great deal. She would always smile at the compliments, even if I didn't have a strong opinion one way or the other.

So, if you know your wife is planning to ask you to go shopping with her to buy a sophisticated lady dress, think about what I have told you.

Or maybe, you would be better off to tell her this would be a good time for her spend some quality time with her best friend. Good Luck!!!
